Splinter Reeds

Don't miss the incredible virtuosity and bristling energy of Splinter Reeds, a reed quintet of intrepid taste.

Splinter Reeds is the Bay Area's first reed quintet, formed in 2013 by five innovative musicians with a shared passion for new music. Individually, in addition to having performed with the San Francisco Symphony and many regional orchestras, they are members of groups including San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, sfSound, Ensemble Parallele, Sqwonk, and ECO Ensemble. Their performance credits elsewhere include Alarm Will Sound, International Contemporary Ensemble, and Ensemble Dal Niente. Splinter is committed to presenting top tier performances of today's best contemporary composition, with an emphasis on commissioning new works, collaborating directly with composers and other artists.
