Ben Goldberg, a piece each by Thelonious Monk and Carla Bley, as well as spur of the moment song choices.
“I have played with Ben in many different projects over the years, but especially in the period of 1992-2002. During this time I collected numerous compositions by Ben, some of which have never been recorded. They are difficult to bring off as solo guitar pieces, and I have long wanted to challenge myself to do this. This evening begins that journey, which I hope will result in a record someday soon. I am particularly happy to be presenting this concert as my first show (under my name) at the Center For New Music, where I have played and listened on many memorable evenings.”
