Kattt Atchley Biography: Bio:Kattt Atchley writes, composes, sings, reads text, plays keyboard, combines disciplines into performance. Her works include solo performance, as well as, collaborations with artists Kenneth Atchley and Ron Heglin; and since 2003 has commissioned abstract musical theater pieces from a growing roster of artists. Kattt has performed at venues in the Bay Area, New York, & Germany. Work-In-Progress: /// "The Atchleys", duo with Kenneth/// "Influctuations", the performer stands behind a translucent screen. From the rear of the stage, a pair of lights cast the performer's shadow onto the screen. The accompanying sound of the piece is of one long, uninterrupted, micro-inflected breath and the sound of the tongue vibrating against the lips, hard palate, and teeth along with a layered recording of these sounds. The unhurried temporal scale of this work is designed to allow the time and acoustic space for contemplation and the audience's collaborative imagination to evolve. /// "I Dream", this nocturne is a mix of my tongue vibrating against the lips, hard palate, and teeth along with casio keyboard chords and a wash of shortwave fuzz and dirty vinyl. |
