Morgan Guberman with Numinous Opossum

By turns languid and manic, Morgan Guberman¹s compositions for contrabass create shifting textures and bizarre structures, incorporating source materials ranging from tape loops to thumb pianos to found objects such as saw blades. His work encompasses solo electronic and chamber music with an emphasis on free improvisation, as well as avant-garde and classical notated scores. For Langton he performs with former ROVA saxophonist Andrew Voight and Micro East Collective's Ian Davis in the trio Numinous Opossum. Works by this Oakland-based artist have been utilized by dancers and filmmakers, and have received radio play throughout Europe, Japan, Australia and the United States.
