REV - Donald Robinson, drums, Lisle Ellis, Bass, Biggi Vinkeloe, saxophones

Jack Wright, Saxophone with Morgan Guberman, bass, John Shiurba, guitar, Karen Stackpole, gongs and percussion, and Tom Djll, trumpets.

REV is the trio of Donald Robinson (drums), Lisle Ellis (bass) and Biggi Vinkeloe (saxophone, flute). Vinkeloe and Robinson have toured and performed together quite regularly, despite his Bay Area home and hers in Sweden. Ellis is also a frequent collaborator of the pair. Their familiarity with each others’ styles, sensibilities, and instincts, as well as their incredible musicianship, make this ensemble impressive.

Jack Wright, bronco-busting saxophonist from old Philly, re-takes the fort at 21 Grand with a posse of old friends and deputies, playing a rootin' tootin' roundup of free improvisations. Wright's intense, uncompromising spirit has inspired these words from the Washington Post (2000): "In the rarefied, underground world of experimental free improvisation, saxophonist Jack Wright is king." Jack's visits to the Bay Area are always a cause for celebration.
