Improvisation Master Class with Steve Coleman and the Five Elements!
A hands-on master class setting for instrumentalists and vocalists of all levels to learn from alto saxophonist and M-BASE founder Steve Coleman and the Five Elements. Concepts covered include: harmony as understood through the overtone series, polyrhythm using odd and even "cell" cycles, pitch memory through ear training exercises and transcription, and other topics as time permits. Students are encouraged to attend both parts of this workshop. The second session will continue topics discussed in the first session. Please bring your instruments!
Part I: Saturday, April 24, 4-6pm
Part II: Monday, April 26, 6-8pm
$50 for both parts
