Two groups made up of the unique and evolving collective of Portland improvisors, varyingly known as Super Unity Group, Rasbullito, and the 411 Collective, will be making a rare appearance in the Bay Area. PIGEON features 6 dancers and 3 musicians performing in an unique egalitarian formation where movement and sound take equal prominence. Led by Super Unity's Kathleen Keogh, PIGEON's improvised dance and music creates an atmosphere of pigeon flocks, colonies, and aggregations. Dancers Kathleen Keogh, Kestrel Gates, Stu Phillips, Nat D. Newburger, David Rafn, and Alison Gross join with musicians Bryan Eubanks, Leif Sundstrom, and Janice McKeachern. The FERRIT / JAVELINA / EWE TRIO is a rare reunion of Super Unity founding members Bryan Eubanks, Jean-Paul Jenkins, and Joe Foster who currently teaches music in South Korea. F/J/E Trio's sound is in the quiet minimalist tradition of Super Unity but with a bit more levity and lightness. Also playing is Oakland's PELOTON who will feature a large ensemble consisting of Viola, Electronics, Computer, Clarinet, Basoon, Drums, Trombone, and 5 Voices.
