Luminary Bay Area musical virtuosos David Abel, Chris Brown, Fred
Frith, Joan Jeanrenaud, William Winant, and Quartet San Francisco
perform an eclectic program in the Mills College Concert Hall on
Saturday, April 8 at 8:00pm. Cellist Joan Jeanrenaud and percussionist William Winant perform Fred Frith’s “Save As,” a moody, darting collage of varying textures. Acclaimed violinist/violist David Abel presents “Zephyr,” a gently lyrical piece for solo viola by Steed Cowart. A quartet of Jeanrenaud
(cello), Winant (percussion), Fred Frith (electric guitar), and Chris
Brown (piano) will perform “Four6.” one of John Cage’s last works. And to complete the program, Quartet San Francisco will perform “String Quartet No. 15 in a minor, Op. 132,” Ludwig van Beethoven’s late masterpiece.
Cost: $12/6
