CONVERSATIONS FOR PEACE
With Pianist Bill Crossman
Teacher, Human Rights Organizer, Poet, Futurist

and

THE GREATEST LITTLE BIG BAND IN THE HISTORY OF THE MEGAVERSE

Bill Crossman has played piano since he was a kid, first classical, then jazz and blues starting around age 13. He's played with a lot of great improvisers over the years, including over 15 years with the Ritual Band (S.F.) and 8 years with the Ritual Band East and Night Flight (both in Atlanta). He currently teaches jazz and blues piano at Oakland Public Conservatory of Music (OPCM), and he teaches critical thinking, writing, and ESL at Berkeley City College. He's a longtime human rights organizer, poet, and author of recent book VIVO Voice-In/Voice-Out: The Coming Age of Talking Computers. His website is www.compspeak2050.org.

THE GREATEST LITTLE BIG BAND IN THE HISTORY OF THE MEGAVERSE
has been trancing audiences out for the last five years. Megan Bierman on tenor sax, Jack Duval on drums, and John Gruntfest on alto sax play in the spirit of freedom and stars exploding. This is the best energy-spirit music on the contemporary scene. It defies categorization and has got to be heard to be believed. As drummer Dave Casini has said about this music, "same spirit of swing and interplay that I hear in the Basie Band of the 30s channeled through a Venda ocarina duet."
