Les Gwan Jupons
vintage Caribbean party music
Les Gwan Jupons plays instrumental folk and dance music from all over the Caribbean - biguine from Martinique, cumbia from Colombia, calypso from Trinidad, roots reggae from Jamaica, bolero and cha-cha from Cuba. With an acoustic sound driven by upright bass, guitar and drum set, and a horn section inspired by dancehall biguine bands from the French West Indies in the 30s and 40s, the band features some of the Bay Area's most grooving musicians playing some of the most joyful repertoire on earth.

Cory Wright, clarinet
Rob Ewing, trombone
John Finkbeiner, guitar
Lisa Mezzacappa, acoustic bass
John Hanes, drums and percussion
