Call them "indie jazz medieval string consort with a smattering of minimalism and a pinch of Black noise, acting out deconstructionist utopian aspirations". Eric Vogler, Kasey Knudsen duo, harmony is melody. If you don't buy that than come see this highly evolved duo improvise their way through originals and mutated jazz standards.

Ahleuchatistas is an all-instrumental guitar/bass/drums trio whose music “resides at the meteoric end of the tempo scale.” A first time grouping led by mercurial Flying Luttenbachers drummer Weasel Walter featuring theatrical voice artist Aurora Josephson, trumpet/electronics mistress Liz Allbee, noted percussion expert William Winant and Jacob Lindsay on most sizes of clarinets. Expect detailed, abstract music created at a nexus where intensity and sensitivity intersect. Henry Kaiser performs with John Hanes and Michael Manring.

Sidecar's original audio and visual design, which includes interactive electronics and sound processing, tape compositions, and video, provides a nervy counterpoint to vintage texts by Edith Sitwell and Longfellow.

shudder works with compositions and improvisation to explore and develop a language for acoustic instruments that can exist easily in the realm of electronic music.

Electro-acoustic innovation, deep listening informed group communication and an ear for dynamics and austere details that most musicians tend to overlook, shudder provides one of more rewarding listening experiences available to SF bay area audiences. The group has toured the east and west coasts and has an upcoming recording that the group is currently shopping to labels.
