PRESS RELEASE. San Francisco Fringe Festival 2024. August 8-23
“Happened Change” is profound and can be traumatic as its consequences are unknown and out of direct control.
— from the “Management Study Guide”
(ManagementStudyGuide.com)
The Food, Wine and Song Quartet plays with changes fueled by words, harmony and heart. Stripped down like an old onion —layer by layer — in the end, at the core, what is left? What do you hold in your hands as you peer through onion tears? Imagine a friend. Up the stairway, you walk into the house. Your mind is empty as air filled with poems, movement and haunting music… Breathe!
Inspired by the poetry of Tobey Kaplan who reads her work, Happened Change weaves the brilliant improvisational music of
Heikki Koskinen (e-trumpet, tenor recorder, small percussion) and Cindy Webster (musical saw, hurdy gurdy, ocean harp) with Nan Busse’s harlequinesque movement score takes viewers on reflective journey.
FWSQ has performed Happened Change in the Inferno Theatre’s Diasporas Festival (2023), at Adobe Books (SF), and in the Outsound Luggage Store Gallery series. The group is looking forward to sharing their Changes with the Exit Theater’s 33rd annual SF Fringe Festival (2024) audiences.
