His Honey From A Winter’s Stone is a synthesis of hip-hop, chamber jazz, and new music and features a string quartet, DC-based rapper/producer/singer Kokayi, longtime Akinmusire bandmates Sam Harris on piano and keyboards, and fellow Berkeley High School alum Justin Brown on drums.
