As a composer and improviser,
Dan Plonsey (reeds) has performed hundreds of pieces for large and small ensembles, most recently ensembles featuring his wife Mantra, who writes the stories and lyrics, which she speaks and sings.
John Schott (guitar) and
Cory Wright (reeds) have been frequent collaborators with the Plonseys for more than two decades. For this concert, the four will perform both as a quartet and as duets. While the music will be largely improvised, it's also compositional as the musicians know how to play to each others' strengths -- which will likely include bits of songs from weird Americana, Bulgaria, in addition to misty imaginary lands.
COVID still hasn't gone away, so we have to make some accommodations to it. Seating will be strictly limited -- we may have to turn you away if we fill our (reduced) capacity. You must be vaccinated against COVID, and you must wear a mask while on the premises. We won't have any snacks, because it seems to me like that's incompatible with masking.
