Iranian singer Mahsa Vahdat performs in the intimacy of a house concert in the Berkeley hills, accompanied by Setar master Atabak Elyasi. As described by Mahsa Vahdat, "I invite you to journey with me through song and image into a world where butterflies I’ve drawn and shaped take flight. They carry stories of longing, sorrow, hope, joy, and resistance. Their wings are my songs." .The performance will take place against the backdrop of a series of abstract butterflies she began painting during the pandemic, projected onto a large screen. The songs will be based on classic poetry of Hafez and Rumi.
