The Tiger Garage, a unique and intimate performance space located in south Berkeley, will present an afternoon of poetry and music on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. This event will feature a multimedia performance of the poem “Unseen Stream” written by Jaime Robles, set to improvisational music/soundscape by
Tom Bickley,
Nancy Beckman, and Jaime Robles, with video by Jaime Robles.
The poem describes a walk through the streets of Berkeley, following a stream that flows from the hills to the Bay. The stream becomes a catalyst for memories of a former lover. The work-in-progress performance features improvisational music by composer and performer
Tom Bickley and shakuhachi musician
Nancy Beckman. The combination of singing, spoken word and live music/soundscape is set to a background of film taken at the Botanical Garden in Tilden Park.
The Tiger Garage, an intimate performance and rehearsal space, has a welcoming atmosphere and is committed to showcasing experimental artistic voices.
“We are thrilled to host Jaime, Nancy, and Tom for this extraordinary performance,” said Tiger Garage representatives Haru-chan and Hikari-chan. “Their collaboration embodies the spirit of artistic exploration and community that we strive to cultivate at the Tiger Garage.”
