REVIEWS:

"Falls" is a magic disc, completely envoƻtant, ideal for long solitary
ballades downtown or in the countryside or for long ways in the car on
motorway. Without any doubt one of the most essential and outstanding
discs of 2004.
- Dider Goudeseune, Derives.net

RF is the musical moniker of Ryan Francesconi, a musician, artist, and
computer programmer in California. In his music, Francesconi
successfully blends organic instrumentation (guitars, strings, horns)
with subtle glitchwork and his own musical software. The result is an
intricate lattice where each sound, be it from a plucked string or a
click of the mouse, seems carefully and thoughtfully placed. Fans of
Stereolab, Tortoise, and Mouse On Mars may find it familiar, but RF
contains a grace and intimacy not often heard in those artists' work.
- Jason Morehead, OpusZine

If you had to pigeonhole RF, you might label it Intelligent Acoustic
Music. His whispering guitars and gentle programming make me want to
snuggle up with my iPod and a good Haruki Murakami novel.
- 3Hive

'Falls', the second album from California-based Ryan Francesconi, is a
further expansion of his trademark, and perfectly crafted electronic &
traditional favoured crossover, under the RF alias. Its roots fixed
firmly in the belief that electronica and real instrumentation can have
breath-taking results, without sounding too clinical. Sharing the same
atmospheric beauty of Mum's recorded output, 'Falls' is a blend of
ambience, crunchy Matmos beats and a teasing array of instruments which
include violins, mouthharp, cello, guitar, percussion and trombone...
- Andy Harrison, Angry Ape

The debut solo album from Berkeley, CA-based Ryan Francesconi works as
a soundtrack for pensive, pondering times, that lets the mind drift
from rigidity and schedules. A lofty, deeply atmospheric ambient
musical work, "Interno" combines an assortment of electronic textures
with classical and acoustic instrumentation such as the cello, violin,
flute, clarinet, horns and guitar, and brandishes Balkan music as a
major influence. It's a soothing, contemplative yet exploratory effort
-- especially surprising considering Francesconi's career as a computer
programmer and application developer. He even wrote much of the
software he uses to compose his music. "Interno" is an impressive
start.
