Vinny has a collection of gongs in his music room, and when I’ve been there making music with him I’ve always been struck by what a unique sonic environment it is. In most recording situations this would be the opposite of what you’re looking for, but I wanted to hear the beautiful, weird resonance of it as a prominent element of our music. Wayne did an amazing job in both the recording and mixing to capture the sounds we were hearing in the room.
